After an 8-year legal battle, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally reached a settlement in their divorce.
As per a report by People published on December 30, Jolie and Pitt have signed off on their divorce, and both parties opt for a jury trial.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyers told the outlet.
“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” the legal representative added.
More an insider close to the Oscar-winning actress noted, “She doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Maria actress filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19, 2016, after two years of marriage and 12 years of relationship, citing irreconcilable differences.
They also share six children together including, Pax, 21, Maddox, 23, Shiloh, 18, Zahara, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16.
Moreover, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also fighting a legal battle over joined custody of the $164 million French estate and winery, Château Miraval.
